Job Description

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent qualification (advantageous).
• Technical or mechanical training certificate (advantageous).
• Minimum 12 years experience in operating a hammermill or related industrial machinery.
• Experience in manufacturing, milling, agriculture, or processing industries preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of hammermill or similar crushing/grinding machinery operation.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with attention to detail and quality control standards.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in noisy, dusty, and physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate hammermill equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Load raw materials into the hammermill and monitor processing to achieve the correct particle size.
• Adjust machine settings and feed rates as required to meet production specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections of hammermill equipment to detect wear, blockages, or malfunctions.
• Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment.
• Monitor output quality and ensure processed material meets production requirements.
• Record production data, downtime, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures at all times.
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues and report major breakdowns to the maintenance team.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the hammermill area.
