A leading Venture Capital firm based in the heart of Cape Town is growing its funds and portfolio, and is looking for an experienced Senior Manager: Finance & Operations to join their tight-knit, purpose-driven team. This role is to work part-time (9am-2pm), in a hybrid setup, and still play a key leadership role at the intersection of finance, innovation, and impact.
Sit at the heart of their operations, ensuring the smooth running of the business and its investment structures. Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing fund operations -- from financial and ESG reporting, to draw-downs, disbursements, distributions, and compliance.
Managing internal teams and support functions across finance, fund admin, and reporting.
Acting as the go-to for external partners -- legal advisors, auditors, accountants, regulators, and others.
Ensuring operational excellence in governance, tax, legal structures, valuations, and investment execution.
Supporting portfolio companies with post-investment compliance, structuring, and reporting requirements.
Playing a direct role in investor interactions (local and international), working closely with their partners and investment team.
Requirements
A finance-related undergraduate degree, ideally with a postgraduate qualification, diploma, or accreditation in finance, legal, or fund management.
5+ years of relevant experience in finance, operations, fund management, or accounting -- ideally in a VC, PE, or high-growth environment.
Strong legal structuring and fund accounting knowledge is a big advantage.
High level of accountability, independence, and ability to juggle complex projects with minimal oversight.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfort with general accounting systems and working with auditors.
