Job Summary
Busy upmarket Guest House in the Ferndale Ranburg region is requiring a dynamic, energetic and hands-on general manager.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services: Greeting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, responding to guest requests and complaints, and ensuring a positive guest experience.
Staff Management: Supervising and training housekeeping, front desk, and other staff, developing staff schedules, and ensuring high morale and performance.
Operations & Maintenance: Overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and common areas, inspecting property upkeep, and coordinating necessary repairs.
Financial Management: Preparing and managing budgets, monitoring expenses, controlling inventory of supplies, and managing financial transactions.
Marketing & Sales: Promoting the guest house to attract new guests and retain existing ones, and managing bookings and reservation systems.
Compliance & Safety: Ensuring the property adheres to health and safety regulations, implementing security measures, and maintaining compliance with licensing laws.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as guest house manager or a departmental manager in a small hotel
Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Abilities: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to multitask.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office and hospitality management software skills essential
Education: A high school diploma, with a diploma in Hospitality Management (preferred)
