WESTVILLE CAMPUS

Programme Academic Leaders will provide teaching and learning leadership in the specified
programme in the school.

Those appointed to the PAL position should have experience working as part of a team and
must be able to demonstrate effectiveness in such a role. This involves the ability: xefx82xa7

to ensure that vital tasks are carried out within the programme; xefx82xa7
to give attention to applications, enrolments, timetables, course-outlines,
and booklists. xefx82xa7
to oversee and manage the academic quality of the programme; xefx82xa7
to assist in resolving student matters; xefx82xa7
to initiate changes and updates to existing programmes; xefx82xa7
to propel and advance the development of new programmes if required; xefx82xa7
to promote collegiality amongst the stakeholders of the programme; xefx82xa7
to advise and assist colleagues and the school leadership; and xefx82xa7
to work effectively with professional services staff.

The incumbents will report to the Dean and Head of School, devolved to the Head of Masters
and Postgraduate Programmes.

Minimum Requirements: xefx82xa7
Doctoral degree or evidence of having successfully completed the degree; and xefx82xa7
Currently appointed at the level of Senior Lecturer or higher.

The Programme Academic Leader position is a fractional appointment. A non-pensionable
allowance is attached to each position.
