Job Summary Groups & Incentives Relief Consultant - Luxury Travel | Johannesburg Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Groups & Incentives Relief Consultant for a leading luxury travel company. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless delivery of group travel experiences, supporting operations, sales, and client services while ensuring exceptional standards across all touchpoints. Key Outputs: o Supervise team responsibilities during a consultant's absence, managing their workload including re-quotes, proposals, operations, and related tasks o Assist in developing agent and hosted educational bookings in collaboration with the Sales team o Participate in implementation and testing of systems and procedures o Follow up on provisional bookings and inactive leads o Assist with loading bookings during peak periods o Support Small Group Journeys operations o Assist with procurement of new suppliers and products to enhance group offerings o Occasionally travel with groups to assist with operations Knowledge Required: o In-depth knowledge of the tourism industry, including travel channels, trends, destination management, and customer expectations o Familiarity with terms and conditions, markets in which the company operates, third-party products, and luxury travel destinations o Understanding of business strategy and commercial decision-making o Passion for delivering service excellence o Strong knowledge of South Africa, Southern, and East Africa with ability to provide recommendations and assistance o Basic knowledge of crisis management, emergency response, and risk mitigation protocols Skills Required: o Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in itinerary planning, documentation, and client communications o Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently o Proactive and solution-focused, anticipating challenges before they escalate o Analytical thinking combined with creativity to resolve complex problems during relief assignments o Ability to collaborate with team members, partners, and stakeholders to achieve common goals o Proficiency with Tourplan, Wetu, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) advantageous Personal Characteristics: o Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to exceptional customer service o Ability to thrive in dynamic, unpredictable environments and adapt to changing circumstances o Independent decision-making and confidence in high-pressure situations o Initiative-driven with diligence, self-motivation, and administration-focused o Willingness to share knowledge, teach, and inspire others o Driven by intrinsic motivation rather than targets Previous Work Experience Required: o Minimum 3-5 years' inbound tour consulting experience Package: o Competitive remuneration and benefits To apply for the Groups & Incentives Relief Consultant role, please send your updated CV, references, qualifications, and a recent head & shoulders photo today Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only candidates who meet the listed requirements for the position will be contacted.
