Job Title: Group Tax Supervisor

Job Purpose:
The Group Tax Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the tax compliance and planning activities of the organization, ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations. They will supervise a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support in tax matters, coordinating tax audits, and driving tax efficiency and optimization strategies. The Group Tax Supervisor will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide tax advice, manage tax risks, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and provide leadership to a team of tax professionals, ensuring their training, development, and performance management are effectively carried out.
2. Oversee the preparation and review of the organization's domestic and international tax filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Coordinate tax audits and inquiries with authorities, managing all related communications, documentation, and responses on behalf of the organization.
4. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's overall tax position, considering both immediate and long-term tax implications.
5. Stay updated with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and effectively communicate the impact of these changes to relevant stakeholders within the organization.
6. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provision calculations and financial reporting, including working with external auditors on tax-related matters.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adequate tax risk management and compliance throughout the organization.
8. Provide tax advice and support to various internal stakeholders, such as senior management, business units, and legal teams, to guide decision-making processes and proactively manage tax risks and opportunities.
9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tax planning strategies and identify areas for improvement or modification.
10. Serve as the primary point of contact for tax-related queries and requests from external stakeholders, such as taxing authorities, auditors, and advisors.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. Qualification - CA(SA)
2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
3. Deep understanding of domestic and international tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and provide practical solutions.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate tax matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
6. Proficient in using tax software and technology tools, with experience in leveraging technology to streamline tax compliance and reporting processes.
7. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
8. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of developing and motivating a team.
9. Knowledge of transfer pricing, tax planning strategies, and international tax dynamics is an asset.
10. Ethical behavior, commitment to maintaining confidentiality, and high levels of integrity in handling tax matters.
