Job Description

Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics, supply chain, and distribution functions across all business units within the group. This role ensures cost-effective, compliant, and efficient movement of goods and materials, aligning logistics strategies with overall business objectives. The manager will lead regional logistics teams, negotiate with service providers, and implement best practices to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Strategic & Operational Management

• Develop and implement group-wide logistics and supply chain strategy solutions.
• Standardize processes, systems, and reporting across multiple subsidiaries/business units, for both AMC and its sister organizations, including operating sites.
• Ensure alignment of logistics with production, procurement, and delivery plans.
• Optimize freight, warehousing, and distribution networks to reduce costs and improve service levels.

Transport & Distribution

• Oversee inbound and outbound transport operations (road, rail, sea, and air where applicable).
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant deliveries to domestic and international customers.
• Efficient permitting processes and understanding of reasonable timeframes.

Warehousing & Inventory

• Work with the company Procurement Manager to ensure that group warehouse and stores offer proper storage, handling, and inventory control.
• Implement warehouse management systems and best practices to increase efficiency and reduce losses in the logistics chain.
• Implement policies that will reduce shrinkage.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with local permitting and laws pertaining to abnormal loads, including international trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
• Monitor and mitigate risks associated with transportation, import/export, and supply chain disruptions.
• Oversee insurance, claims, and dispute resolution related to logistics operations.

Financial & Performance Management

• Develop and manage the logistics budget across the group.
• Monitor KPIs such as cost per ton/km, delivery performance, lead times, and warehouse utilization.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and sustainability initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and develop logistics teams across the company in collaboration with the procurement team.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, finance, and operations teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Act as the key liaison with senior management on all logistics-related matters.

• Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain, with at least 5 years in a senior/group management role.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping, INCOTERMS, customs, warehousing, and transport management.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Experience in multi-country logistics operations (import/export heavy industries a plus).
