Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Industria, Johannesburg
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Salary Range: R16,000 - R20,000 per month
Key Responsibilities
CCTV (IP/Analog)
Install, terminate, and label cabling (Cat5/Cat6), crimp & punch-down, test PoE.
Install Analog CCTV cameras with power supplies.
Configure cameras/NVRs/DVRs (Hikvision), assign static IPs, storage & retention.
Monitor system health: disk SMART, PoE budgets, camera uptime, firmware, and backups.
Biometrics / Time & Attendance
Deploy and support ZKTeco/Morpho Biometric devices.
Configure basic device settings (IP addresses, ports, cloud server settings if needed).
Enrol users, configure clocking rules, fetch logs, and reconcile duplicates.
End-User Support (Tier 1-2)
Support Windows 10/11, drivers, printers/scanners, basic network (DHCP/DNS/TCP/IP), and Wi-Fi.
Provide assistance with Microsoft 365/Outlook (profiles, OST/PST, Autodiscover, MFA basics), Teams, and OneDrive issues.
Offer remote support using AnyDesk.
Excel & Reporting
Clean and combine datasets; use PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, FILTER, IF/IFS, TEXT/DATE functions.
Analyse data based on specific requests.
Web Portal
Understand the functionality of web-based portals.
Upload data to web-based portals.
Summary of Requirements
Solid IP networking fundamentals (subnetting, NAT, VLANs, PoE, basic firewall rules).
Proven experience with Hikvision and ZKTeco/Morpho plus Jarrison Time.
Strong Excel skills (intermediate level as described above).
Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel to sites and work after-hours for cutovers.
Clear, professional communication and disciplined documentation.
