Lesaka Technologies is seeking an experienced and strategic Group Head of SecOps to lead and coordinate security operations across its group of companies. This pivotal role is responsible for safeguarding the groups information assets, systems, and data against internal and external threats, while ensuring alignment with global security standards and business objectives.
Role Purpose
The Group Head of SecOps will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to security operations functions within each business unit, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in embedding a culture of security awareness, managing incident response, and enabling the group to adapt proactively to the evolving threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for SecOps across the Lesaka Group, ensuring a unified and effective approach to information security.
Align security policies, procedures, and practices with international standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee threat monitoring, incident detection, and response activities across all business units.
Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Develop and implement group-wide security awareness and training programs.
Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to strengthen the groups security posture.
Lead and coordinate incident response planning and execution in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.
Engage with senior executives and key stakeholders to ensure security initiatives support business goals.
Mentor and develop security talent across the group to build a high-performing and resilient team.
Internal and External Relationships
Internal: CIOs/CTOs, SecOps Leads, and Information Security Officers across all group companies
External: Security vendors, service providers, and strategic technology partners
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Professional certification such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM
Extensive experience in senior security roles, ideally in a group or enterprise-wide capacity
Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk governance
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence across diverse teams and geographies
Key Competencies
Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., SOX-ITGC, PCI-DSS, NIST CSF)
Proficiency in intrusion detection and prevention, log analysis, and system/network fundamentals
Critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to operate under pressure
Strong ethical integrity, persistence, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
