Group Financial Reporting Manager | Luxury Wine Estate | Franschhoek

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Group Financial Reporting Manager for a prestigious luxury wine estate based in Franschhoek. This vital role reports directly to the CFO and offers the opportunity to drive financial excellence across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and maintaining the integrity of all financial reporting processes.
This position is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in group reporting and a passion for innovation and process improvement within the finance function.
Requirements:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
Minimum of five years' relevant experience, including group financial reporting, consolidations, and auditing
Proven track record managing external audits and working with senior leadership
In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards
Proficient in financial reporting systems, with advanced Excel skills
Fluent in Afrikaans and English, both written and spoken
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with ERP systems such as Sage X3, Oracle, or similar platforms
A passion for driving financial process innovation and improvement
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage the group's consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS or relevant GAAP standards
Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly and annual financial reports to stakeholders, including executive leadership and the board
Oversee preparation of financial reports for regulatory compliance and filings
Lead the consolidation process for multiple entities, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations and reporting
Enhance and maintain the financial consolidation systems and processes for improved efficiency and accuracy
Manage external audit relationships and ensure a smooth annual audit process
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements across the group
Oversee management of the group's fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, impairment assessments, and disposals
Collaborate with operational teams to track and reconcile physical assets
Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to ensure financial integrity
Recommend improvements to financial and operational processes to mitigate risks
Provide financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
Monitor and analyse financial data to support decision-making and identify trends
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster growth and high performance
Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the finance function
