Job Description

Oversee and guide the work of Financial Managers and Accountants.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidated income statements and balance sheets.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the group.
Compile management reports and provide detailed financial analysis.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and risk management measures.
Drive system, process, and control improvements.
Manage audit processes and ensure minimal discrepancies.
Monitor and manage group cash flow, investments, and significant payments.
Oversee VAT and income tax calculations, returns, and statutory payments.
Ensure timely completion of all statutory and regulatory returns.
Review and prepare annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with TCF and POPIA principles.
Provide financial guidance and support to senior stakeholders and regional managers.
Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will have between four and eight years of relevant financial management experience, preferably in short-term insurance or financial services.
They will demonstrate strong technical expertise in IFRS, advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and a thorough understanding of industry regulations.
Leadership and people management experience are essential, along with the ability to deliver accurate reporting under tight deadlines while maintaining a collaborative approach with stakeholders.
Qualification:
CA(SA) qualification (essential).
Financial Services / Short-Term Insurance experience (highly advantageous).
Comprehensive IFRS knowledge
Experience in accounting packages such as MS Dynamics/Great Plains/Business Central advantageous
