The ideal candidate? Someone with completed SAICA or SAIPA articles and 2-3 years' experience in a financial accounting role--someone who's sharpened their skills in consolidating group financials and is ready to bring that expertise into a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
As the Group Financial Accountant, your duties include the following:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in line with company policies
Process all financial transactions in accordance with internal controls and reporting standards
Manage cash books and petty cash, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation
Prepare timely and accurate bank reconciliations, investigating and clearing reconciling items
Perform reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet accounts, income, and expense items
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial control systems and procedures
Document and update internal financial processes to support compliance and consistency
Support the year-end audit process, including liaison with external auditors and preparing audit schedules
Maintain and oversee accurate creditor records and supplier reconciliations
Compile and submit VAT returns along with all necessary supporting documentation
Prepare tax returns and assist in compiling documents required for SARS reviews or audits
Ensure full compliance with SARS deadlines and statutory obligations
Conduct financial due diligence and provide insights for business decision-making
Skills & Experience:
Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
Proven experience working in a group environment
Qualification:
Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
