About the Role

We are seeking a part-time

Finance Director

to lead the development and execution of core financial systems across a multi-entity group structure. This role will be responsible for establishing scalable processes around monthly close, consolidated reporting, cash management, and financial oversight--ultimately enabling the business to operate with greater financial clarity, control, and agility.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational finance experience, is systems-oriented, and thrives in building out foundational workflows that support scale. You'll be working directly with the Founder and external partners while coordinating internal and outsourced contributors to ensure timely, accurate, and high-integrity financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the diagnostics and improvement of financial controls and workflows across the holding company, operating companies, and SPVs. Design and implement a monthly close process with a target of <5 business days for the main OpCo. Oversee consolidation of financials across entities (multi-currency as needed), and develop group-level reporting dashboards including P&L, cash position, and key performance indicators. Build and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast; initiate weekly cash sweeps to optimize idle cash yield while preserving liquidity. Develop and operationalize a dual-authorization payment approval matrix. Monitor and ensure compliance for all legal entities within the corporate structure. Coordinate and manage performance of the bookkeeping firm to ensure timely and accurate transaction entry and reconciliations across all entities. Define a capital allocation policy, including ROIC models for investment decision-making. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of a Finance Lead, including coaching and handover documentation (SOPs, recorded walkthroughs). Provide strategic finance advisory during the transition and ramp-down phases.

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive finance experience, including oversight of multi-entity or international structures. Deep understanding of monthly close, consolidation, cash flow forecasting, internal controls, and financial reporting. Experience implementing finance systems, automation tools, or dashboards. Strong command of Xero or similar accounting platforms. Proven ability to manage outsourced finance providers and junior finance staff. High degree of autonomy, accountability, and execution focus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating across time zones and remote teams. Must be able to work in our virtual office (Kumospace) for team meetings and collaboration.
