Job Description

The Data & Analytics Business Engagement Lead will act as the primary liaison between business units and the central data & analytics team. This role is responsible for identifying analytical needs across departments, leading a team of data analysts and BI developers, and ensuring that data-driven solutions are aligned with business goals and deliver measurable value. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, analytical expertise, and leadership capability to drive the organization's data and analytics agenda.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the definition, development and execution of the enterprise Data & Analytics (D&A) strategy and ensure alignment with global business objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and technology roadmaps for enterprise-wide D&A investments and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective D&A solutions.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, agility, continuous improvement, and security-by-design across the global IT organisation.
Portfolio & Architecture Governance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Group D&A portfolio strategy, frameworks, methodologies, and architecture standards.
  • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide architecture guidelines, blueprints, roadmaps, and reference models.
  • Monitor D&A portfolio alignment to business strategy and ensure consistency and maintainability across global operations.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve architecture deviations across the D&A lifecycle.
Technology Evaluation & Adoption
  • Lead the identification, research, and evaluation of new IT and D&A technologies.
  • Track and measure adoption rates, time-to-adopt, and impact of new D&A capabilities.
  • Ensure proactive scanning of global technology trends and leverage opportunities that support business objectives.
Performance, Value & ROI Measurement
  • Track and measure D&A portfolio ROI, financial benefits, and overall value delivery.
  • Monitor time-to-market for new D&A initiatives and performance against delivery expectations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on D&A architecture initiatives, performance metrics, and portfolio progress.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure D&A systems and solutions adhere to security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Partner with the Group Information Security Officer to proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve D&A-related risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strategies for data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Track and measure compliance levels, security findings, and time to resolve vulnerabilities across the global D&A landscape.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Serve as a strategic liaison between business leaders, IT teams, and global stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Clearly articulate the value and benefits of enterprise architecture across the organisation.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Analysts, Specialists, and IT professionals across the enterprise.
  • Manage cross-functional teams in the delivery of the D&A portfolio, ensuring alignment with business imperatives.
  • Promote professional development, knowledge sharing, and certification within the team.
  • Measure and drive employee engagement, satisfaction, productivity, and capability growth.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science/Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA, Master's in Information Systems, Data Science, or Enterprise Architecture) is advantageous.
  • 5-7+ years in enterprise or data architecture, including 3-5+ years leading complex or global portfolios.
  • Experience with major enterprise applications such as SAP ECC, Syspro, and SuccessFactors.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BW, SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and Power BI.
  • Strong background in data modelling, ETL pipeline development, and data governance frameworks.
  • Experience building queries in SAP BW using BEX, Analysis for Office (AFO), and Eclipse.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is an advantage.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and SAC to create compelling insights.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and data manipulation skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Understanding of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
  • Understanding of data protection and governance requirements relevant to the industry.
