This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role overseeing the end-to-end Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) delivery of utility-scale power projects.

A fast-growing, purpose-driven renewable energy company operating across Sub-Saharan Africa. They develop, build and operate sustainable power generation assets, with a strong commitment to technical excellence, safety, and long-term community relationships.
The Role
As Group Construction Manager, you will lead the planning, design coordination, procurement, and execution of multiple renewable energy construction projects - ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
You will oversee project implementation teams, work closely with development and O&M teams, and manage key internal and external stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full EPC value chain from design to commissioning
Support early-stage development with constructability, design, and procurement input
Lead procurement of specialist contractors and engineering service providers
Review and approve designs, specifications, and contract documentation
Manage construction execution teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
Ensure compliance with project budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations
Conduct site visits, oversight audits, and progress reviews
Drive a strong health & safety culture with zero-harm objectives
Oversee financial, technical, and operational risk assessments
Liaise with environmental & social teams to ensure permits, licences, and approvals
Maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and local stakeholders
Prepare monthly management reports and contribute to board-level reporting
Stay current with relevant codes, regulations, and best practice standards
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
5+ years' experience in EPC, construction management, or project management
Proven track record delivering renewable energy or infrastructure projects in Africa
Strong understanding of EPC contracts and commercial project structures
Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent budgeting, reporting, and risk management skills
Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant engineering body
Willingness to travel extensively across project sites
