Job Description

Afrirent Holdings is looking for a dynamic CFO to effectively manage the Group's finances and support the CEO and General Managers in executing their duties in line with sound accounting principles and relevant best practice, by strategically directing and ensuring sound management of the financial, accounting and procurement functions of the organisation, and by advising on matters that have strategic and financial implications. The role develops and drives forward long-term strategic planning strategies and policies to facilitate the achievement of the Group's vision and objectives by ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of corporate financial operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Essential Strategic Management

Contributes to the organisation's strategic development by providing specific input regarding the financial strategy, functioning and performance of the Afrirent Group and its subsidiaries, to ensure ongoing sustainability and financial viability Keeps abreast with legislation, Acts, Bills, Regulations and amendments thereto, trends, theories and practices underlying Finance, Supply Chain Management and Asset Management Provides strategic vision and sets the direction for the department Complies with performance management requirements for department Ensures sound engagements with Internal Audit and manages the redress of audit queries, in support of the achievement of an unqualified audit report Sets the long-term strategy and objectives for the Finance Department taking into account economic, social and international variables Facilitates and assists Managers in the identification, analysis and resolution of strategic issues within the Department Provides inputs into the strategic planning processes to promote consistency and alignment with corporate goals and objectives of the Group Monitors and manages the execution of business plans and action steps set out in the business plan Assesses new or altered needs, challenges and opportunities and facilitates the incorporation thereof into existing policy documents, where necessary Identifies, formulates and oversees the development of programs, projects and operational guidelines
Financial, Management Accounting, Supply Chain and Asset Management Leadership

Oversees the Group's financial forecasting, budget preparation and compilation process; provides advice, support and input to stakeholders Conducts quality assurance on the final budget Oversees the development and monitors the implementation of management accounting, financial administration and accounting, procurement and asset management policies, systems and processes Ensures that structures and systems are in place to provide the required comprehensive range of management, accounting and operational reports to support the Group's performance Ensures that all systems, structures, processes and practices adhere to the principle of segregation of duties Ensures that all aspects of financial, accounting, and regulatory reporting are in place and provided on a timely basis, in line with the prescribed format and approved timelines Provides input into the compilation of the annual budget Administers the overall Group budget and monitors expenditure, ensuring it is in line with financial requirements and the Department's objectives Manages external contractors and suppliers in an effective and efficient manner
Effective Financial Accounting, Revenue, Cash Management and Management Accounting Oversight

Oversees that financial accounting, revenue, cash management and management accounting processes, practices and controls are developed and implemented Oversees and implements the payment of all creditors within 30 days of invoice receipt Ensures effective management of the Group's cash flows Oversees the delivery of management accounts for the Group's quarterly and annual reporting Directs and guides the tracking of expenditure trends, and the timely, quality-aligned compilation of financial statements
Strategic Supply Chain Management Oversight

Ensures the effective implementation of strategic supply chain management practices and controls, that comply with regulatory requirements, and supports the Group in delivering on its strategic objectives Ensures all Departments across the Group are supported through an effective and legislatively compliant contract administration service Provides direction and guidance to ensure full compliance with SCM policies and procedures
Asset Management Oversight

Oversees the Group's management of moveable assets, logistics and disposals Provides strategic input to ensure the development and implementation of a sound, compliant asset management system Ensures asset management processes are fully functional and in line with statutory and operational requirements Provides guidance on the establishment and ongoing management of an accurate asset register
International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) Audit Compliance

Achieves an average of 80% compliance on both internal and external International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) audits conducted
People Management

Directs and controls outcomes associated with the utilisation, productivity and performance of employees within the Finance business unit Reviews and aligns the business unit structure to the strategic objectives of the Group Establishes work standards, provides feedback and coaching and conducts employee performance reviews and appraisals and related activities to comply with Afrirent's performance management system Identifies professional / technical skills gaps within the business unit and completes developmental plans for subordinate employees with clearly defined career paths and job enrichment opportunities Monitors the adequacy of current training interventions supporting employee development and reports on workplace impact post training and / or the need for changes to the plans Promotes employment equity within the Department Implements Human Resources policies and procedures to control / regulate workplace conflict and / or institute corrective measures and consultation processes to address deviations from standards

EXPERIENCE



12 - 15 years' experience in Financial / Business Management 10 years' financial management experience at a senior management level in the public or private sector The breadth of experience must cover general management aspects of financial management and procurement
Ideal

Operated at Exco level in a medium sized organisation (R10 - R500 mil) Experience in company turnarounds Experience in mergers and acquisitions

EDUCATION



Bachelor's degree (NQF level 7) in Business / Commerce / Business Management Postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Accounting / Financial Management / Business Management CA (SA) SAICA Registration

Salary: the salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed with the successful candidate
