Job Description


One of the prominent self-storage property funds and brands in South Africa is dedicated to the rapidly expanding self-storage sector, a specialized sub-sector within the broader commercial property market. This organization engages in the development, acquisition, and management of high-profile self-storage properties, empowering it to effectively compete in emerging market segments and increase its market presence.

Presently, this company is in search of a Group Asset Manager, who will be responsible for asset management duties across various markets.

Based in:Cape Town

Salary:Market Related

Responsibilities

Researching local and international markets, procuring and acquiring properties, overseeing development and disposal processes, and analyzing portfolio performance.

Conducting feasibility studies and due diligence investigations.

Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external circulation, such as business plans, cash flow projections, development budgets, feasibility analyses, and investment summaries.

Supervising and coordinating special projects.

Monitoring utility expenses, including local authority rates, utility consumption, and service charges.

Promoting sustainability and energy generation initiatives in collaboration with the Facilities Team.

Managing ancillary revenue and landlord interactions at the property level.

Overseeing the coordination of the Group''s insurance policies.

Assisting in managing the Group''s banking and joint venture relationships.

Required Experience

Demonstrated experience of at least five years in a property and/or asset management capacity, directly aligned with the outlined duties and responsibilities.

Possession of an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification in Asset Management, which may encompass a BSc in Property/Construction Studies, a relevant qualification in the Property, Financial, or Legal domain, and/or a CA(SA) background with property expertise.

Documented financial expertise in preparing feasibility analyses, development budgets, cash flow modeling, and valuations.

Proficiency in financial interpretation and analytical capabilities.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication proficiencies.

Strong aptitude in delivering effective presentations.

Capability to effectively manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Previous experience in administration and adherence to established systems, policies, and procedures.

Proficiency in IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Demonstrated professionalism in demeanor, appearance, and work ethic.
