Job SummaryTo find out more, click Apply or head on over to Crayon to review the full spec and applyHow you'll roleAs the Group Accountant, you will be a key functional expert in the organisation and will be responsible for all finance and accounting activities. This includes consolidating financial results, monthly forecasting, managing the Annual Operating Plan, tax and accounting guidance, treasury management, and credit management as well as enforcing compliance with finance-related laws and procedures and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting. You will lead through influence and provide guidance, support, and assistance to the organisation. The Executive Leadership Team will rely on you to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financials as well as speed and efficiency of data management, financial reporting, and continuous improvement in data analytics and reporting.What you'll do

• Manage 9 companies (most are small and only require VAT and basic requirements)
• Be responsible for income TAX, VAT, and CIPC submissions - good working knowledge of SARS Efiling and dealing with SARS
• Update bank accounts and process transactions
• Manage debtors/creditors:

• Be responsible for loan accounts and balance sheet recons
• Be responsible for interest, depreciation and loan journals
• Be responsible for group management accounts
• Take part in financial meetings
• Do weekly payments to strict deadlines, manage banks, and manage payroll run
• Be responsible for ageing checks, audit preparations, B-BBEE preparations, and general admin
• Post audit adjustment

What you'll need

• Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role (non-negotiable):

• Previous media experience, experience working with media buying, and media owners
• Consideration will be given to a suitably experienced Financial Accountant to grow into the role
• To be a self-starter with an assertive self-confident attitude, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
• To demonstrate the ability to deal with reasonably complex reconciliations
• Navision (finance package) experience (training will be provided)
• SAGE/Pastel knowledge - both payroll and accounting are an advantage
• Media and production systems experience advantageous
