Group Accountant
Our client is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Group Accountant to strengthen a small, high-performing finance team.
Important notes about the position: * This is an in office position based in De Waterkant, Cape Town.
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- Salary offered: Market related and dependent on experience, negotiable for the ideal candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Debt & Treasury Support: Maintain intercompany loan schedules, calculate and reconcile interest, and prepare external debt calculations, payments, and statements.
- Entity Accounting: Process transactions and payments for group entities, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records and clean intercompany reconciliations.
- Financial Operations: Assist with payment runs and approvals; support month-end close (journals, reconciliations, working papers).
- Audit & Reporting: Prepare audit deliverables and support the compilation of annual financial statements and related disclosures.
Qualifications & experience
- CA(SA) or Bachelor of Accounting Sciences / Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences / SAIPA.
- Preferably ?1 year post-articles if CA; experience in a similar accounting/finance role advantageous.
- Strong Excel proficiency and confidence with accounting systems.
- Analytical problem-solver with excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information; calm under pressure and deadline-driven.
- Proactive self-starter who takes initiative; strong team player with clear, professional communication (written and verbal).
