A well-established retail group is seeking an experienced and driven Grocery Manager for one of its stores in Randburg. This role is ideal for someone who understands that strong buying decisions, tight stock control, and motivated teams are what keep a grocery department performing at its best.
You will take ownership of the day-to-day management and growth of the Grocery department, leading staff while ensuring operational excellence, strong supplier relationships, and consistent merchandising standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, motivating, and developing the grocery team
Managing buying, replenishment, and supplier negotiations
Ensuring correct stock rotation and adherence to FIFO principles
Maintaining high merchandising standards, accurate pricing, and PI labels
Controlling shrinkage, wastage, and stock losses
Coordinating promotions and in-store advertising activities
Monitoring sales performance and departmental profitability
Handling administration including invoice checks and reporting
Requirements:
Proven retail management experience within a grocery environment
Strong buying and stock control experience
Solid understanding of merchandising, promotions, and pricing accuracy
A hands-on, detail-driven approach with strong leadership skills
This is a full-time position with a negotiable salary based on experience.
