Job Description


The position will be supporting all aspects of grants management within an allocated portfolio in Aurum, as well as supporting business development services for assigned opportunities.

This will include ensuring compliance with Donor rules and regulations, both for proposal applications as well as within implementation of projects and programmes.

The position will work closely together with a Grants Manager, who serves as the line of communication between the allocated programmes/projects, (internal) support departments and the Donors that offer funding.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

Business Development:

  • Identify/source potential business in line with Aurumxe2x80x99s strategic objectives and participate in organisational discussions to develop new research and programmatic ideas.
  • For selected Donor opportunities, assist in the development process, ensure quality control and support submission of funding proposals in conjunction with a Grants Manager and a technical lead.
  • Support the post-proposal submission period, including (if applicable) coordination of responses to questions; facilitate award/contract negotiation and finalisation, including potential subawards/subcontracts; facilitating post-submission debriefings and transition to delivery team(s)
Grants and Contracts Management:
  • Support the overall Grant/Contract administration for projects/programmes in portfolio, in conjunction with a Grants Manager
  • Ensure compliance with both internal and external (funder) policies and regulations.
  • Support accurate and timeous submission of reports both internally and externally, including prior approval requests.
  • Support the optimal usage of Donor funds and resources to meet programmatic xe2x80x93 and/or project needs.
  • Ensure effective sub-award/sub-contractor management including contract amendments, review and approval of reports and invoices, prior approval requests, disbursements and Donor compliance.
  • Continuous monitoring of compliance and risk assurance monitoring and coordination, and proactively highlight any potential risks/issues.
Programme Management Support:
  • Act as an internal resource for grant compliance to Programme/Project Managers, Partners and other (internal) support departments
  • Provide support to the Grants Manager in various capacities.
  • Act as a point of contact for partner organisations
  • Assist in providing internal capacity development of Project Managers in terms of funder requirements, budgeting and financial management.
Human Capital Management (If Applicable):
  • Training of project staff to ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills required by the organisation.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Effective self-management and performance ownership:
  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback.
  • Take ownership for driving own career development by participating in on-going training and development activities such as conferences, workshops etc.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration
  • Project Management advantageous
  • Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in grant management in a Donor environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of NIH, CDC, USAID and EU rules and regulations
  • Basic legal knowledge with regards to contracts
