Job Requirements
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the accurate administration of assigned grants and ensuring adherence to grant guidelines, university policies, and procedures.
Requirements

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related fields with a minimum of four or three years of relevant experience, respectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in grants, programme, or project management.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and financial principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the ITS system will be an added advantage.
Duties
  • Coordinate grant-funded projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, funder requirements, and University policies.
  • Support preparation, collation, and submission of proposals, plans, and reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment.
  • Monitor all cost centres, track expenditures, and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  • Monitor project performance and deliverables against approved plans, SOPs, and timelines.
  • Coordinate change requests, administrative processes, and risk mitigation, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain and secure documentation for reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Assist in reviewing and improving internal processes, resources, and systems to enhance grant administration efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on DHET SOPs, compliance standards, and institutional procedures for consistent application.
  • Serve as central liaison for stakeholders and participate in committees as required.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops as appropriate.
  • Contribute to departmental strategic and operational planning and perform ad-hoc duties.
