Job Description
A leading breeder and manufacturer in the Sorghum industry is recruiting a Grain Procurement Officer.
REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSILIBLITIES:
- Grain contracting and procurement
- Grain distribution
- Quality control on grain harvests and stock
- Grain trading
- Liaising with contracted farmers in regard to planting procedures and crop management
- Yield estimates
- Supporting Plant Breeding with seasonal trials
- BSc. Agric: Agricultural Economic and Agronomy or
- BCom. Agricultural Economics
- Own transport and licence
- At least 3 years' experience in grain procurement/ trading
- Agricultural knowledge of row crop production will be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- A can do mentality.
