POSITION: GRADUATE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY (12 MONTH CONTRACT)

LOCATION: PEP AFRICA, PAROW INDUSTRIA, CAPE TOWN

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: PEP Africa is part of the PEPKOR Group and is the largest single brand discount retailer in Africa. Our stores are across four countries: Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia. We are a customer-focused retailer that sells a wide range of affordable, good quality products for the whole family.

This graduate opportunity provides hands-on experience in the retail industry and offers the chance to learn about the department's processes and strategies. You'll apply your knowledge and skills to support overall business objectives, including taking accountability for a specific business project.

WHERE YOU FIT IN:

PEOPLE SUPPORT (LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT):

You'll support the design of an in-house leadership development programme, help shape learning journeys, and explore how we develop future retail leaders at PEP Africa. From conducting needs analysis and researching best-practice programmes to helping measure the real impact of training through ROI tools, you'll play a key role in turning learning into meaningful results.

FINANCE:

Get hands-on with the cash engine of the business. You'll support the automation of card deposit reconciliations, help streamline finance processes, and work closely with stores, banks, IT and country teams. From analysing daily cash data and resolving variances to improving controls and visibility, you'll play a key role in making finance smarter, faster and more efficient across our markets.

OPERATIONS:

Get close to how our stores really work. You'll help uncover and understand our customer base using existing data, support stores in identifying regular and high-value customers, and contribute to smarter space planning in-store. From analysing store contribution data to helping refine store layouts, you'll play a hands-on role in improving store performance.

ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS:

Dive into the tech that keeps the business running. You'll support a major POS replacement project, gaining hands-on exposure to project management, systems, and technology. From working with stakeholders and supporting technical setup to assisting across the full system lifecycle, you'll help turn smart tech into smooth, everyday operations across the business.
