As a Graduate in Chemistry, you will be involved in ensuring that the equipment used in analytical work is producing accurate results, analysis of samples, providing valuable analytical reports of the process streams from the mining operations to the last refining step, and projects, amongst other things.

You will have the chance to develop technical and interpersonal skills in analytical chemistry activities related to mining.

This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who want to have a smarter future within mining. Initially, you will be offered a Three-year graduate programme with our Southern Africa Business Units rotating to one or more of our sites where possible (three twelve-month placements). You have the chance to make a difference in real projects and follow a structured learning development journey.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Anglo American Graduate Programme, you must:

• Have a postgraduate degree (Honours) in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry.
• Have completed your honours degree or are due to graduate/complete by December 2023.
• Have no more than two years of relevant work experience.
• Be a team player with strong leadership potential.
• Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a passion for challenging work in our operations.
• Be available/willing to work in remote areas of South Africa as part of the Graduate Programme such as North-West (Rustenburg) and Limpopo (Burgersfort, Steelpoort, Mokopane, Polokwane, Thabazimbi and Northam).
• This role requires a high level of mobility, you are encouraged to obtain a driver's license.

What to Expect

• The first stage of the recruitment process is a review of your CV.
• Should you pass the initial screening stage, you will be invited to complete an on-demand video interview and game based psychometric test where we will test your motivation and competencies for the role.
• Then if successful you will be invited to our assessment center with all the potential candidates.
• Candidate will be expected to undergo a Medical Fitness Test and Assessments
