Purpose of Job

The Clients & Markets Industry Driver (xe2x80x9cdriversxe2x80x9d) is a key business development role within each respective industry. The drivers work closely with their SMA Industry Leader to support them in achieving the objectives of the SMA Clients & Markets strategy and the SMA firm Strategy. In doing so, they will provide support on strategic issues relevant to their industry to formulate their SMA Industry Strategy.

The drivers are expected to work across line of service (x-LOS) and across the three market areas in Africa, namely SMA, WMA and EMA in order to drive achieving the planned growth in their industry across Africa (x-Africa).

The driver role is a dynamic role that evolves continuously requiring agility, innovative ideas and dedication to tackle tasks that are required to make the industry a success x-LoS and x-Africa.

Role Description

Responsibilities:

Strategy

Unpacking the SMA Clients and Markets strategy and formulating a relevant SMA Industry Strategy that sharpens our market focus.

Coordinating the communication and execution of the SMA Industry Strategy x-LOS to ensure alignment.

Attend key strategic industry meetings with the industry leader.

Relationships

Building and maintaining strong, relevant relationships with clients within the industry -C-Suite and Management that are relevant x-LOS.

Building and maintaining strong industry networks within the firm x-LOS, x-Africa and across the global network.

Drive the process to ensure that all relationships are recorded in Salesforce. Liaise with account teams to ensure that contact details for compliance with GDPR regulations are reviewed and updated regularly

Review Alumni relationships for the Industry and ensure that they remain up to date.

Budgeting and reporting

Prepare zero-based budgets for the SMA Industry, taking into account x-LOS to maximise synergies.

Monitor and consolidate financial results and track progress to budget for the Industry. Maintain PowerBI industry dashboard on a monthly basis. In addition, to monitor costs for the industry.

Prepare presentations / updates / progress reports for the industry for SMA Industry Leader and Africa G&PS Leadership meetings.

Account management

On a weekly basis, review the Master Client Landscape Sheet to ensure all information for the industry is up to date and accurate (x-LOS).

Ensure that any information from the above review is flagged for Mandatory Firm Rotation (MFR) purposes, if relevant

Monitor the Industry Priority accounts list to ensure tiering (Platinum vs Focus) is updated (x-LOS, x-Africa)

Drive the adoption of Salesforce by reviewing all industry priority clients. Ensure teams update Salesforce and are using Salesforce regularly (x-LOS, x-Africa).

Monitor wins and losses x-LOS and analyzing the impact thereof on the Industry Strategy.

Ensure Account Planning Workshops are being held for all priority accounts (Platinum and Focus).

Review Account Plans for all priority accounts (Platinum and Focus) -provide advice, share ideas and knowledge from other Industry Drivers to leverage efforts.

Liaise with GPRS / CRPs / Account drivers for all priority accounts (Platinum and Focus) x-LOS to provide guidance on account management and ensure progress is made on accounts.

Provide support (Account driver) on priority accounts where required.

Salesforce

Be proficient in using Salesforce to assist industry in driving adoption of Salesforce x-LOS.

Prepare dashboards for Industry Leader (x-LOS)

Analyse information on Salesforce and provide industry insights for business development to assist in sharpening our market focus.

Ensure all Industry campaigns are loaded onto Salesforce and opportunities linked where appropriate.

Client feedback

Coordinate with the account teams to ensure that client feedback is obtained and loaded on the database

Ensure Post Decision Reviews (PDRs) are completed by teams for all proposals (x-LOS) on all priority accounts

Industry insights

Liaise with the Market Intelligence team where industry market and client analysis is required. Review the analysis and contribute by adding industry insights and knowledge.

Keeping up to date with internal matters and external factors affecting the market / industry.

Coordinate industry activities that are focused and relevant to sharpening our market focus and strengthening our relationships.

Review the thought Leadership Calendar and liaise with LOS to ensure that it remains up to date.

Drive the process of thought leadership / press releases to remain relevant in the market. This requires prompting LOS teams with ideas and project managing the release together with CMD.

Proposals

Proposals for Platinum and focus accounts - support the proposal process by assisting with:

Project Management -from start to delivery of final product

Liaising with Bid Office, Design, Service delivery team

Reading the proposal written by teams to ensure consistency of Industry messaging and Brand

Attend client meetings where relevant during the proposal process

Support proposal team during dry runs

Proposals for other accounts - drive the proposal by assisting with:

Reading the proposal written by teams to ensure consistency of Industry messaging and Brand

Liaise with account teams to provide assistance on queries

Communication

Drive communication in the industry through social media (LinkedIn), Website, Google Sites and Salesforce. Ensure teams are active and provide assistance where required

Ensure all communication relating to the industry remains relevant and is aligned with the SMA Industry Strategy and SMA Clients & Markets Strategy e.g. Social Media, Google Sites, Website

General

Liaise with teams regularly to ensure sharing of knowledge and collaboration towards the Africa Industry Strategy (x-LOS)

Attend training relevant to the Industry responsibilities e.g. negotiation skills, relationship building, networking, account management etc.

Responsible for ad hoc projects affecting the industry.

Project manage multiple projects/initiatives within the industry program.

Liaise with Global Industry teams to leverage ideas and remain relevant with the Global Strategy.

Remain involved in all industry events to ensure that they are relevant in sharpening our market focus and that the right people are invited

Maintain an industry-specific xe2x80x9ccalendar of eventsxe2x80x9d including thought leadership publication dates, media campaigns, relevant Business Schools events, platinum and focus clients AGMs/ results presentations/analyst days etc.

Key Competencies and Attributes

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Good analytical skills.

Excellent computer literacy skills, including advanced MS Office skills & Google Suite.

Proficiency with software systems (knowledge or previous experience of Oracle accounts payable modules).

Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and network widely.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships with leadership, senior management, and peers and at team level.

Sound business acumen and G&PS Industry knowledge as well as being commercially and risk aware.

A self-starter able to work effectively as part of a virtual team.

Qualification & Experience

Requirements

Minimum 4 yearsxe2x80x99 experience
