We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated General Manager to lead our team at a prestigious, live-in game lodge nestled in the breathtaking Eastern Cape. Remuneration: R 35; 000.00 - R 40; 000.00 per month (live-in) Key Responsibilities: Overall Lodge Management: Oversee all lodge departments, ensuring seamless operations and the highest standards of service excellence. Guest Experience: Champion guest satisfaction, proactively addressing needs and exceeding expectations to cultivate memorable stays. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Financial Management: Manage budgets, control costs, and strive to achieve financial targets, including revenue generation and profitability. Operational Excellence: Maintain the property to impeccable standards, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. Strategic Development: Implement strategies to enhance the lodge's reputation, drive guest bookings, and increase profitability. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including labor laws and health and safety standards. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Education: Matric certification is required. A Degree, National Diploma, or Certificate in Hotel Management is essential . Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role within a 5* lodge or hotel environment. Operational Acumen: A clear and comprehensive understanding of all aspects of lodge operations, including but not limited to: Guest Relations Food and Beverage Housekeeping Front Office Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office suite and OPERA. Experience with platforms like Guest Revu and TripAdvisor is highly advantageous. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) in English, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders. Administrative Prowess: Strong administrative skills, including meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities. Financial Management: Demonstrated financial skills, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Leadership Qualities: A proven ability to motivate and lead a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Knowledge of: Basic Labor law and disciplinary procedures. Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license (no endorsements) is essential . Own reliable vehicle/transport. Willingness to accept a live-in position.
