The Opportunity The Global Trade and Excise function at EY Johannesburg consists of a specialised team of expert consultants, advising and assisting various local and international clients. The team works across multiple industries including mining onshore and offshore, petroleum and gas, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and beauty, FMCG, motor vehicles and many more.
Key Responsibilities As an Assistant Manager you are required to assist the management of the team in ensuring that we continue to add value to our clients. Attending client meetings, doing risk management and drafting documents are part and parcel of the opportunity. Drafting opinions, responses to SARS audit findings and general Customs and or Excise advise are expected from the successful candidate. The candidate will also be required to attend to SARS branch or Head Office to submit applications and documents. The ability to work with Excel and or PowerBI to analyse xe2x80x9cbig dataxe2x80x9d is required.

• Client focused, an ability to actively maintain and develop strong relationships with clients
• An effective time manager and planner
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through effective writing and articulate discussion
• Drafting clear and concise documents is important

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A University Degree in Law LL.B, Commerce Honours, Accounting Honours, and or Logistics Honours is required
• Around 2-3 years working experience in consulting is required
• Work experience in Customs, Excise, Logistics and or International Trade is preferred

Ideally, youxe2x80x99ll also have

• Other accredited Customs, Excise and or International Trade qualifications would be beneficial
