Job Description


The Mission of the Global operations manager Rock Drills is to collect internal and external best practices and optimize all acquired Rock Drills production facilities and support the strategy for sales acceleration. The role will also lead the integration of new Rock Drills acquisitions. Direct reporting for the role will be to the Parts and Services divisional president in EMEA.

Position objective:

The role will have a wide range of responsibilities with a focus on the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) and leading cross-functional teams to successfully integrate new acquired Rock Drills companies, driving some of the companies' top strategic initiatives to ensure value-creation delivery. Other responsibilities include facilitating strategic planning processes, operational excellence of the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) summarizing results in a clear and concise manner and managing and developing high performing teams.

Job activities:

  • Together with the division functions you will lead the organization as an aligned team to achieve the common targets for the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) - away from the functional thinking towards teamwork with common goals.
  • Develop, execute and maintain a strategy for the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) based on the divisional strategy and in compliance with circular economy principles Translate this into well agreed and documented processes with corresponding KPIs, follow-up and improvement initiatives.
  • High focus on Safety and Sustainability and ensure it is part of every function's strategic direction and activities. Set a plan on how to achieve our People and Planet target 2030 and execute accordingly.
  • Ensure that your organization, suppliers, supply chain, production and processes are built to meet market fluctuations with agility, efficiency and speed.
  • Ensure a successful ramp-up of the new Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) to maintain our market leading position and the ability to handle large volumes efficiently.
  • Strategically work with our purchasing and supply chain for a reliable and cost-efficient manufacturing and delivery.
  • Actively be part of the product development and ensure products developed can meet market demands in terms of safety, quality, delivery, cost and time to market.
  • Take responsibility for product quality and product cost for Rock drills produced in the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) and drive activities to ensure competitiveness. Alignment with product managers that globally owns the product KPIs.
  • Develop a digitalization road map for the Global Rock Drills production facilities (PSD) operation aligned with the Epiroc strategy and leads to improved KPIs. Plan should include appropriate training programs to ensure organizational readiness.
  • Set integration action plan in cooperation with Epiroc functions and newly acquired companies.
  • Support the acquired company with delivery of synergies, executing on integration plans and setting up the reporting structure.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, with a key focus on coordinating integration activities.
  • Build key success metrics to evaluate the impact of various projects, improvements, and services.
  • Effectively plan and facilitate meetings to reach conclusions/consensus. Monitor projects and solve problems to keep projects moving forward.
  • Create presentations to effectively communicate the status and results of the integration activities to both project teams and senior executives.
  • Ensure that the change management activities are aligned with stakeholders and are sustainable. Develop a highly competent and motivated team of professionals by continuous and responsible feedback, coaching and support.
  • Safeguard that everyone in the organization respects and live up to the values of Epiroc and adhere to Epiroc Code of Conduct and build an inclusive and diverse organization to achieve better business results.
Experience Requirements
  • You have management experience, either from operations or a function
  • Experience in process optimization
  • Best practices implementation
  • You have successfully led or had a central role in significant change projects/initiatives
  • You are fluent in English verbally and in writing
  • You have had international experience and / or multicultural exposure
Educational Requirements

University degree or similar through experience. Strong analytical capabilities. This position is placed in South Africa
