As part of its strategy to diversify conservation funding and secure sustainable sources of funding for its operations, African Parks is implementing nature finance initiatives across its portfolio, including carbon credits projects, nature units and nature bonds. With several projects gaining momentum, there is a need to upscale internal GIS expertise to support the development of these initiatives.
The GIS consultant will perform geospatial analyses, develop and automate geospatial workflows and produce visual map outputs for the Innovative Nature Finance team to support the implementation and monitoring of outcomes-based spatial units and carbon-related activities. The consultant will also work closely with the geospatial unit with potential opportunities to get involved in strategic research work, database and data management and training of colleagues.
The support we're seeking will be provided by an independent contractor and is not intended to be construed as services from a professional services firm.
