Hire Resolve's Client is urgently looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to be based at their mine in the Northern Cape!
Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed underground mine plans and designs that balance safety, efficiency, and economic viability.
  • Legally appointed under Regulation 14.1(8) of the MHSA to oversee geotechnical compliance and safety.
  • Monitor and analyse rock mass behaviour, slope stability, and geotechnical risks using advanced modelling tools.
  • Provide technical input into mine planning, pit design, blasting, and waste dump optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory geotechnical regulations, codes of practice, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to align geotechnical strategies with operational goals.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor Degree in Geotechnical Engineering / Mining Engineering / Geology
  • 5 years' experience in open pit mining with at least 4 years as a Rock Engineer
  • COM Rock Mechanics Certificate for Metalliferous Mines
  • Member of SANIRE
