The Role
To assist the Fitters and Maintenance Manager with daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment, facilities, and workspaces remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose.
What you'll be doing:
Maintenance and Repairs
You will roll up your sleeves and:

• Perform general maintenance tasks such as spray-painting shelving, basic welding repairs, grinding of tiles, and other ad hoc maintenance activities as requested.
• Assist with routine and preventative maintenance, including:

• Fixing air and water leaks
• Replacing bearings
• Inspecting silos for leaks, water pressure, and drainage
• Assisting with repairs to extruders, dryers, and Nerak elevator buckets
• Cleaning and maintaining coating machinery

Hygiene, Housekeeping & Occupational Health and Safety
Safety and cleanliness are non-negotiable. You will:

• Adhere strictly to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Food Safety standards (FSSC 22000).
• Identify health and safety hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Report hazards and risks promptly to Management.
• Maintain high personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Keep work areas neat, organised, and compliant by:

• Cleaning and sorting tools and equipment
• Safely storing materials in the workshop
• Applying clean-as-you-go principles consistently

What you'll bring:

• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
• Valid Driver's Licence (Code B) will score you extra points
• 1-2 years' experience in a maintenance or similar hands-on role

Knowledge of

• Painting techniques

• Production machinery such as compressed air silos, hammermills, extruders, dryers, and coating machinery
• Safe working procedures and best practices
