Primary care and Wellness

The virtual diagnosis and treatment of minor acute ailments; treatment may consist of appropriate patient education and counselling, prescription of medications, referral to an appropriate healthcare provider or facility as medically indicated.

With respect to the work done by the referring virtual primary healthcare nurse, the medical practitioner is responsible for ensuring that:

• Ongoing compliance with the diagnosis and treatment of acute primary diseases according to the standard treatment guidelines and essential medicine list. Review and sign off medications scheduled outside the scope of the virtual primary healthcare nurse.
• Conduct specific relevant medical examinations and assessments within the limits of a virtual care setting.
• Consult medical cases using evidence-based resources;
• Provide clinical and legislative scrutiny to the clinic and workplace virtual healthcare system;
• Provide a referral base for the virtual primary healthcare nurse;
• Kaelo will be responsible for all costs and expenses of the doctor, including, but not limited to, the doctorxe2x80x99s salary;
• Will conform to the code of conduct and ethics laid down by the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa);
• Will provide the Company with proof of membership of the aforesaid association;
• Professional indemnity will be held by each professional for the subsistence of the agreement.

Qualifications

Mandatory * Qualifications: Medical degree, ACLS, PALS/APLS

• Registrations: valid HPCSA registration, valid professional insurance
• Experience: Minimum 6 monthsxe2x80x99 work experience after completing Community Service and Internship.

Preferred: * Qualifications: Post-graduate Diploma in a relevant field, ATLS/EMATT (or similar).

• Registrations: BHF, Private pathology services.
• Experience: as a GP or with Telehealth services.
