We are seeking a proactive General Manager to provide/use accurate financial information, support decision-making, and contribute to the financial strategy of the organisation. The ideal candidate will combine strong accounting skills with commercial and economic awareness to improve efficiency, control, and profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support financial planning, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Analyze management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, monitor financial performance plus trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
Assist in strategic decision-making by providing clear, accurate financial information.
Completion of statutory reports for VAT, income tax and PAYE
Support month-end and year-end financial close and reporting.
Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
Conduct inventory reconciliation between Sage and/or the Point-of-sale (POS) system to verify the accuracy of stock quantities and valuations.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to oversee operational performance, financial and budgeting processes.
Strong knowledge of management, accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis/reporting.
Good analytical and numerical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prepare and interpret budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise across departments.
Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.
Commercial, Tourism or Production industries awareness and ability to provide insights that support business decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
B-Com or equivalent Accounting, Finance or related field qualification/ certification.
3-5 years experience in management accounting, finance, or related roles.
Proficiency in Sage Pastel accounting software is essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong understanding of VAT, tax returns, accounts preparation, bookkeeping and accounting principles
Proven managerial capability, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making, resource allocation, and business growth.
Experience working in tourism, hospitality, or production/operational environments advantageous
