Job Description

A Growing hardware and Distribution Co. is seeking a qualified and experienced

General Manager who must be honest, trustworthy, reliable, dedicated and with excellent time management skills, self-driven and motivated with an ability to communicate with directors.

Responsibilities:



Daily



1. Final sign off on all credit applications

2. Final decision on all orders on hold and CIA accounts

3. Liasing with HR on all placements and CCMA cases

4. Guiding and assisting each line manager in any function

5. Deal with any supplier's delays on payments or major issues

6. Meet with procurement officer and warehouse manager every morning to discuss all structural purchases

7. Meet with safety officer to discuss progress on a daily basis

8. To sign off on all structural purchases

9. Implement daily cost saving measures

10. Responsible for the overall direction and management of the organisation

11. To fulfil the tasks of a line manager in the event a line manager has left the business

12. Fulfil any other tasks as requested by the director

13. Drawing up of all company policies and procedures

14. Oversee the direct reporting of the IT Manager and external IT Consultant

15. To approve any changes to be made on the Sales Master Data File

16. To release all company payments and final approval of all beneficiaries

Weekly



1. Weekly sign off bank pack - Finance department

2. Manage the bank pack query tracker

3. Oversight off the Debtors function

4. Total control over the 120 /150/180 day customer ageing

5. Weekly Thursday calling on all customers over 120 days

6. Sign off on any automation for all departments (cost)

7. Hold a weekly management meeting (Monday mornings)

8. To track the new lead's register for all sales reps

9. To review and sign off on all customer reviews (Debtors)

10. To authorise all uplifts via the Debtors Manager

11. Weekly meeting with the Logistics Manager and HR for "in subordination trip recon" queries tracker

Monthly



1. To review and sign off on all SARS related functions

2. Review the investor performance packs being presented monthly

3. Ensuring tax compliance.

4. To have monthly meeting with Audit Manager on surveillance checks and balances with HR

5. To review all Manac from the 10th of every month

6. To review and mark all KPI's in the monthly Manac

7. Working closely with the Director to achieve long and medium term growth

8. To maintain the monthly penalty structure - Sales Manager

9. Re - evaluate cash flows on a monthly basis

10. To oversee the Sales Manager on the creation of new rep codes on Skynamo and Sage

11. To oversee the Sales Manager on the creation of sales project codes on Sage

12. Oversight on all developments on Skynamo & Sage, to also deal with issues on Skynamo and Sage

13. To set monthly sales target and monitor the compliance of targets being met via the Sales Manager

14. The Internal Audit Manager to present daily audit reports and to further review the audit programme

15. To oversee the operating efficiency on the despatch line - to curtail any overtime worked

16. To oversee operation efficiencies in the warehouse environment and maintain cleanliness via the Safety Officer

17. Oversight of the annual service roster

18. Liaising with SAGE consultants on all automation

Annually



1. Manage annual salary increases

2. Annual budget forecast

3. Annual salary budget

4. Oversee and sign off on preparation of Income Statement and Balance sheet including Trial Balance for

Financial Year end Meeting

Adhoc Duties:



Other duties include (allocated monthly reconciliations, monthly / quarterly returns, ad-hoc tasks etc.)

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: R50000,00 - R60000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Springfield, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Education:

Bachelors (Preferred)
Experience:

* accountant: 3 years (Required)
