POSITION: General Manager
NATURE OF BUSINESS: South African subsidiary of Global Industrial Manufacturing Group
JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg, South Africa
REPORTING TO: Country Manager, UK & Ireland
SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:
The General Manager will need to work effectively in the matrixed organisation and play a key leadership role in guiding the South Africa business into the future. He/she will need to lead, influence and work closely with a diverse and cross-functional leadership team with both direct span and indirect span of control, accountable for developing and executing an effective strategy and business plan that will deliver the Group's aspiration.
KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Must have held senior level P&L accountability either as a General Manager or as the Managing Director
• At least 10 years commercial and/or sales management experience, ideally in the building or industrial manufacturing sectors with a proven track record of business development and commercial negotiations
• Must have managed >5 direct reports with an overall staff responsibility of at least 80 people
• Experience working in a matrix or multinational reporting structure would be ideal
• Experience in cost optimisation and reengineering of processes will be advantageous

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in either Engineering, Finance, Business or Sales (minimum)
• MBA would be advantageous
