Job Overview:

They are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our insurance brokerage operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Short Term Insurance, encompassing Personal and Commercial Lines, with proficiency in underwriting, sales, and claims management. Additionally, exposure to healthcare, marine liability, and some long-term insurance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the insurance brokerage team.
Operations Management:
  • Oversee all functions of the brokerage, including underwriting, sales, and claims.
  • Ensure efficient and compliant operations to meet industry standards.
Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities in the insurance market.
  • Foster relationships with clients, insurers, and other key stakeholders.
Risk Management:
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with insurance operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Product Knowledge:
  • Demonstrate expertise in Short Term Insurance, Personal, Commercial Lines, and related insurance products.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, marine liability, and long-term insurance products.
Team Building and Development:
  • Train, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the insurance industry.
  • RE5 + RE1 + FAIS
  • In-depth knowledge of Short Term Insurance, Personal, and Commercial Lines.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting, sales, and claims processes.
  • Exposure to healthcare, marine liability, and some long-term insurance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and achieve targets.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in insurance and management.
