General Manager - Engineering - Cape TownFull job descriptionEngineering company situated in South Africa's Western Cape Province that provides customers with thermal spray coatings, specialised welding services and coatings for specific applications is in search of a General Manager. The company offers extensive maintenance and repair on industrial components which have been damaged by wear and corrosion through their extensive coating, finishing and on-site machining services. You are required to have an Engineering qualification and minimum 5 years relevant management experience in the engineering industry. You will report directly to the board of directors and the package is market-related and highly competitive. Requirements:Based in Cape TownEngineering degree or equivalent with post graduate qualification an advantage5-10 years relevant work experience in management position within engineering industry Duties:Responsible for the daily operations, strategy and goals of the company:Overall responsible for management of business including operations, human resources, marketing and finance;Provide leadership to staff and business, including good communication, ensuring strong operational and financial performance;Responsible to oversee operations to ensure operational efficiency, quality systems and products is maintained and all work complete on time;Responsible for all human resources functions including recruitment of staff, motivation and training, disciplinary procedures and termination of staff;Overseeing the sales and marketing function, developing of new markets and clients, visiting new and existing clients;Maintaining good relationship with suppliers and sourcing of new suppliers;Overall financial management of company including budgets, financial control and monthly reporting (note strong support from directors on financial management);Preparation of annual business plan and budgets;Reporting to the board of directors on a monthly basis, including written monthly report and attending of meetings.
