Job Summary Statement

Moolmans is a multi-national mining contractor offering comprehensive services in both surface and underground applications. Moolmans is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Aveng Group, an international infrastructure and resources company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE: AEG). Reporting to the Operations Director of Moolmans, this position is required to take the lead on all commercial aspects of the project, both internally with operational management as well as with clients where required, supported by the Commercial Executive. This position is accountable to oversee all commercial terms of existing projects by providing the necessary commercial and project controls advice and expertise to ensure Moolmans operates profitably.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Quantity Surveying / BSc in a technical field
  • Association of Arbitration or similar training

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all site management teams understand commercial and contractual obligations of the relevant project. Continuously assess risks and make recommendations based on analysis of key and material factors affecting business.
  • Ensure implementation of change management on site and the identification of risk and opportunities xe2x80x93 in particular changes in mine plane and client specification.
  • Ensure commercial compliance with the Contract to secure opportunities and manage project risks including drafting, submitting, and negotiating claims and other correspondence.
  • Ensure project controls are properly identified and implemented to maximize revenue and minimize costs and ensure profitability.
  • Manage the site measurement, variation, contract price adjustment and certification process to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure that Client reports are properly and accurately completed in a manner that protects Moolmans interests.
  • Ensure that Project Review Reporting accurately describe the key measurement metrics for project performance and that risk and opportunities are clearly identified and linked to the project financial forecast.
  • Attend all Client commercial meetings and assure all meeting records are properly kept and are accurate.
  • Ensure that subcontractor and supplier scope is properly defined and provided to supply chain for procurement. Ensure that subcontractor and supplier contract documents sufficiently deal with specific supply chain risks.
  • Identify and manage supply chain contractual compliance and commercial claims and risks.
  • In conjunction with operational management, continually analyse project performance including the profitability, revenue, and pricing of projects.
  • Perform projects costing oversight monthly to ensure that expenditures are kept within the projectsxe2x80x99 budgets.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims as required.
