General Manager / Base Manager Role xe2x80x93 Cape Town
This is a key role owning all operational activity and hospitality services within our Cape Town base, currently in Gardens. You are responsible for the quality of experience provided at the Base, ensuring we are operating legally, responsibly and efficiently. You will contribute towards the business objectives and be responsible for development projects and initiatives. You will be leading the Hospitality team, ensuring that all staff work together as an effective and responsible team. You will be the person who looks to go beyond the norm, always looking to improve, to be innovative and creative to drive the market place. You will work with the various Business and Sales & Marketing teams to define product to drive the growth in the business. You will also be instrumental in driving the social impact we have in the Cape Town area through our Social programs and through our employment strategies. Reports into: Country Director Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and run procedures and policies for the team to ensure efficient operations in a large Guesthouse
  • Drive occupancy and business growth across all aspects
  • Recruitment, support and coaching of staff at your base to deliver an excellent experience in all that we do
  • Shape the budget with the Operations Director, control all expenditure and work with the Accounts team to ensure accurate recording.
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Manager to deliver our volunteering projects, maintaining strong community relationships and demonstrate how we are making a difference
  • Be at the forefront of the youth travel industry looking for opportunities to evolve the work we do and identify new business opportunities
  • Own the relationships with key partners, Government, officials, tourism bodies and institutions
  • Produce timely and accurate reports as required
  • Manage major issues and incidents in a professional and considered way
  • Be a role model for all aspects of the Impact Travel Group experience for staff, partners, volunteers and the local community
Key Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years as a GM/Deputy GM within an accommodation provider
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude
  • Good verbal communication
  • Passion for Social Change
  • Understanding of the Youth Travel Industry
Package
  • ZAR30000 to ZAR35000 Neg in interview per calendar month
