General Manager - Busy Family Restaurant - Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal
Our client, a well-established hospitality group in Pongola, is seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to oversee the daily operations of their high-volume busy family-style restaurant. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with a passion for people, service excellence, and operational efficiency.
Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full management of the restaurant, ensuring profitability, staff productivity, and an exceptional guest experience. You will lead a team in delivering outstanding service while maintaining high standards in food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Key responsibilities include:

• Full operational and financial management of the restaurant
• Staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management
• Inventory and stock control
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Customer service excellence and complaint resolution
• Managing budgets, cost controls, and achieving financial targets
• Reporting directly to the owners

Salary: R35,000 Cost to Company (No accommodation provided)
Location: Pongola, KwaZulu-Natal
Transport: Must have own reliable vehicle
Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a General Manager in a high-volume restaurant environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance
• Excellent knowledge of restaurant operations, stock control, and financial reporting
• Must have a valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
• Willingness to relocate to or reside in Pongola
• Available to start as soon as possible
