Our client has an opportunity available for a General Manager Assistant based in Moeijelijk.

Requirements:

Matric or an applicable BEng, B Tech Mining or Mechanical tertiary qualification- advantageous.
Blasting Certificate, Explosives Engineering, Blasting Engineering.
SAMTRAC, HIRA, MHSA for Supervisors.
Computer literate.
Mine Overseers Ticket would be advantageous.
10 years in a supervisory position.
10 years experience in Chrome mining.
Experience in TMM, conveyor belts, blasting designs.
Good relationships building with stakeholders.
Be able in reading plans.

Responsibilities:

Investigate mining related incidents and accidents.
Maintain and ensure legal compliance to MHSA.
Coordinate safety activities and initiatives.
Ensure the implementation of SOP's and COP's.
Implement and monitor best practice of safety drill and blasting practices.
Conduct blast optimization and fragmentation analysis.
Ensure a sense of continuous improvement by streamlining drill and blast processes which will increase productivity, quality and compliance.
Compile and submit to stakeholders as required.
