To maintain stock inventory and documentation control.

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
ND in Analytical Chemistry or Biotechnology or relevant tertiary qualification.
1-2 years experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnological, food manufacturing or laboratory environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manufacturing of the different reagents and assembling of the different ELISA kits
Production of ELISA reagents and kits:
Prepare glassware, vials, dried milk diluent, silica gel sachets required for the various ELISA kits.
Prepare different buffers for ELISA processes.
Prepare Human, Sheep and Bovine sera for ELISA processes.
Coat microtitre plates for the different ELISA assays for NBI departments:
Anti-Rabies Plates; Anti-VZ plates; Anti-Tetanus Plates; Anti-HBs Plates and Von Willebrand Plates.
Prepare and dilute the coating reagent according to Work Instructions.
Coat the microtitre plates using the automated Plate Dispenser.
Vacuum dry the plates using the Freeze Dryer.
Correctly pack the microtitre plates for QC analysis on the different ELISA kits.
Prepare the conjugates; controls and standards for the different ELISA kits by:
Clarify and sterile filter the bulk controls and standards.
Dilute the controls; standards and conjugates according to Work Instructions and QARM reports and requests.
Prepare the following reagents:
Freeze dried OPD and substrate solution
Freeze dried 2% Bosine
Freeze Dried Conjugate Diluent
2M Sulphuric Acid
Assembling and packing of the Rapidtest Rh Kit
Preparing the individual kit components by:
Generate labels for pre-packed components and completed Rh kits.
Weigh and count Rh cards; photographs; safety lancets and dropstirs to ensure conformance to the Rh kit specifications.
Apply adhesive and attach patient information onto EDTA specimen tubes.
Dispense the correct volume of Anti-D reagent into the bottles.
Perform visual quality control (QC) checks on each kit component; during the pre-packing and packing processes; and reject any non-compliant components.
Setting aside 1x retention kit of every batch of Rh kit packed and 1 x retention sample of the pre and post Anti-D reagent dispensed.
Assemble the different components of the Rh kit and label the completed kit with the correct batch number and expiry date.
Complete all relevant documents.
