Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for the position of GENERAL ASSISTANT/FRONT OF HOUSE at an internationally acclaimed lodge in the heart of the Anglo-Zulu War battlefields in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The successful candidate must be totally fluent in verbal and written English, as the candidate will be dealing with predominantly British guests and tour operators. She/he must be able to work under pressure and have excellent and consistent attention to detail, be guest focused, have a positive outlook, be an excellent team player, committed, hardworking and eager to learn. Previous relevant experience is essential! Key Performance Areas We are looking for a general assistant whose duties will include, but not be limited toxe2x80xa6
- Assist with housekeeping
- Assist in kitchen
- Assist front of house and reservations
- Host guests (staff often dine with guests) - this is a requirement and culture expected of all staff who work at the Lodge
- Provide relief/cover in all positions when staff are on leave
- The ability to speak Zulu would be an advantage.
- 100% fluent in English
- Well spoken
- Confident and at ease when holding a conversation with international British guests
- Good general knowledge about South Africa, its history and diverse cultures and world events
- Drivers licence essential
- Relevant experience in a similar upmarket lodge
- Matric/Grade 12
- Relevant qualifications for the position

- Live in - Accommodation is a serviced en suite room
- All laundry and meals are included

- Comfortable living in a rural area
