Job Description

The Gardening Supervisor will oversee daily landscaping and gardening operations, ensuring that grounds are maintained to the highest standards. This role requires hands-on experience with gardening machinery, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a small team.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Matric (Grade 12). License: Valid driver's license.
Experience:

Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance. Hands-on experience with gardening machinery and tools.
Skills:

Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of plant care, soil management, and seasonal gardening practices. Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on gardening equipment. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate gardening staff in maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs. Operate and oversee the safe use of gardening machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws). Plan and schedule routine maintenance tasks such as watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all gardening activities. Manage inventory of gardening tools, equipment, and consumables. Report on progress, challenges, and resource needs to management. Drive company vehicle when required for transporting staff, tools, or materials.
