Job Description

As a core member of the development group, you will focus on building, testing, and deploying web systems to new servers and sites. You will work closely with our Key Account Managers, Operations Team, Customers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our online systems function seamlessly.If you are passionate about web development and system management, and you have a strong background in PHP, this is the opportunity for you.Key ResponsibilitiesData Management

• Monitor and maintain all data transmission services and scripts.
• Configure and manage server FTP data folders.
• Perform data capturing and analysis.
• Set up and maintain pricing configurations.

Reporting & Reconciliation

• Compile ad hoc reports as needed.
• Provide invoice breakdowns.
• Perform reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.

Collaboration & Requirements Gathering

• Collaborate with IT managers to define system requirements.
• Work with stakeholders to gather functional requirements.
• Perform business analytics and translate them into SQL reports and forms.
• Contribute as a team player in a dynamic environment.

Software Development & Deployment

• Configure and test systems prior to deployment.
• Deploy new software systems to various sites and servers.
• Oversee server deployments and ensure systems are running smoothly.
• Manage certificate renewals and ensure HTTPS compliance.
• Automate import/export tasks for B2B data movements.
• Enhance existing reports and integrate with external systems.
• Migrate legacy software to a new online platform.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Troubleshoot system failures and address customer queries.
• Provide after-hours support during system-related failures.
• Troubleshoot server failures and oversee restoration processes.

Documentation

• Compile and maintain system manuals and documentation.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Education: National Diploma in Information Technology or an equivalent NQF 5/6 qualification.
• PHP Development: At least 2+ years of experience in PHP development.
• JavaScript: Minimum of 2 years of JavaScript experience.
• Databases: Experience with MySQL or similar databases (2+ years).
• Cloud & Deployment: Hands-on experience with cloud deployment and server environments (Linux and Windows).
• Web Development: Experience in building and consuming APIs, as well as incorporating DB failovers into web design.
• Networking: Basic networking knowledge is beneficial.
• Additional Skills: Knowledge of XML, previous support experience, and touch typing skills are advantageous.
• Code Quality: Ability to produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
