In this role you will be reporting to Operations Manager and will be responsible to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and proceduresYour responsibilities

• Identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team, qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with supplier quality and engineering specialists, negotiating agreements with main suppliers and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions
• Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs, recommending frame agreements to management and executes upon approval, analyzing and evaluating bids in order to determine the optimal value
• Supporting bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information, tracking goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensuring invoice processing, overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues
• Initiating Purchase Orders (PO) in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring and tracking supplier performance to PO requirements
• Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements (based on ERP or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price, ensuring the SAP Ariba platform is updated as defined in the procedure, demonstrating ABBxe2x80x99s core values and group safety and integrity standards and acts accordingly
• Implementing and ensuring compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies and processes in their assigned area, ensuring adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies, ensuring integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities
• Demonstrating an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting and risks, ensuring adherence to the collaboration objectives of the team to maximize results for ABB
• Leading their development journey by seeking knowledge and learning opportunities within the team, managing relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensuring alignment

Your background

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree or Diploma in supply chain management or purchase management
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in SAP Ariba and MS Office.
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
