Front Desk Ambassador (Hotel) - Cape TownFull job descriptionITC Hospitality Group is a fast-growing CBD-based and privately owned property letting and management company that has been in the industry for 20 years. We are currently recruiting for an energetic, well-organised Front Desk Ambassador for our 260-room hotel located on the Foreshore/Financial District of Cape Town. PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates with hotel experience in a similar role will be considered. If you do not meet these qualifications, please do not apply.Key Responsibilities:Must be able to work shifts (early morning through early afternoon, or early afternoon through 10:00pm) on a rotation basisCheck-in and check-out of guestsMake travel arrangements for sightseeing and tours (concierge services)Receive, store and deliver luggagePerform office duties as requiredAbility to follow all Company SOP'sLiaise with Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments and communicate guest requests in a timely and expeditious mannerReceive reservations for accommodation from clients/agents, either in person, online or by telephone, fax and/or emailInform guests of the hotels services and facilities, policies and proceduresDeal with enquiries and requests from in-house guestsTake messages for guestsFinalise guests' bills and issue receipts upon payment on extras account.Place guests' possessions in a safe if requestedFollow in-house procedures to help ensure the security of guests and employeesPerform general secretarial duties, such as preparing correspondence and attending to incoming callsParticipate with in-house guest satisfaction calls via telephonePerform other Front Desk Ambassador duties as required/instructedRequirements:Friendly and service orientated with a "can do" attitudeAlways a smile on your face and in your voiceReliable, responsible and dependable to fulfil obligationsExcellent communication skillsAttention to detailWillingness to lead, take charge and offer directionAbility to multitaskShow initiative by taking control of taskBe available shift work (mornings, afternoon or nights) on weekdays, weekends and holidaysMUST live within the immediate Cape Town areaPreferred Qualifications and Experience:Grade 12 or equivalentAccommodation Certificate/ Hotel School diploma is advantageousAt least 2 years' previous experience in the same or similar position in a 4/5-star hotelFamiliar with all duties and procedures in Front Office DepartmentMS Office (Word, Excel and Email) is essential1 years' Channel manager experience essentialValid Driver's licenceThird language is advantageousBenefits:Professional development opportunitiesApplication Details:To apply send your CV, head and shoulder photo, qualifications, and references to: hr@inthecity.co.zaNote: If you have not heard back from us after two (2) weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.Job Type: Full-timePay: R10 000 - R12 000 per month
