Fresh Production Manager (JHB) - REF: 2812F - JhbWe are now acquiring a Fresh Production Manager with a strong interest in new product development and sourcing, a passion for quality, and the ability to manage our fresh food suppliers in the Johannesburg area.Requirements:xc2xb7 Tertiary qualification in logistics, procurement, operations and/or supply chain management.xc2xb7 Minimum three yearsxe2x80x99 proven experience in a logistics, distribution, production or warehousing environment, preferrably within the agricultural fresh produce industry.xc2xb7 General knowledge of the agricultural fresh produce industry and fresh products that are supplied.xc2xb7 Knowledge of product packaging (quality and ordering).xc2xb7 Passion for agriculture and a commitment to sustainable farming practices.xc2xb7 Strong knowledge of fresh produce varieties, quality standards, and market dynamics.xc2xb7 Track record for excellent customer service.xc2xb7 Proven experience of team management xe2x80x93 minimum 10 staff.xc2xb7 Computer literate with experience in using MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and working knowledge of Sage.xc2xb7 Good communication skills (written and verbal), specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interact with people of all levels.xc2xb7 Must have a valid driverxe2x80x99s license.xc2xb7 Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons or emergencies.Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Reporting to the National Fresh Produce Manager in CPT.xc2xb7 Compiling weekly reports to management.xc2xb7 Creating and monitoring key measurable outputs for which the production team will be responsible.xc2xb7 Executing efficient and accurate ordering and expediting orders.xc2xb7 Expediting stock requests and communicating requests with depot personnel for minimum stock levels.xc2xb7 Monitoring stock levels of fresh produce and packaging at the depot.xc2xb7 Bi-weekly inspections of external processing plant.xc2xb7 Participating in stocktake.xc2xb7 Prioritising tasks and managing time correctly in order to complete daily tasks timeously.xc2xb7 Addressing and investigating customer complaints.xc2xb7 Adhering to all internal control policies of the company.xc2xb7 Adhering to all legislation pertaining to the enforcement of hygienic practices.xc2xb7 Upholding and working according to all internal and external safety guidelines.xc2xb7 Local travel to farms and producers of fresh products to maintain good supplier relationships.xc2xb7 Sourcing new suppliers (farmers, growers or materials).xc2xb7 Liaising with our Cape Town branch for merging of optimal stock procurement.xc2xb7 Investigating cost-saving opportunities within the fresh production space.xc2xb7 Managing the production team according to the companyxe2x80x99s standards through ensuring productivity and desirable work ethics.xc2xb7 Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement innovative techniques to enhance productivity and yield.xc2xb7 Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers and stay updated on industry news, new products, and emerging trends.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: R30,000.00 per monthExperience:logistics, distribution etc: 3 years (Preferred)Language:Afrikaans and English fluently (Required)License/Certification:xe2x80xa2 Tertiary qualification as per the specifications (Required)driver's licence (Required)
