Main Purpose of the Role

DSV Cape Town have dedicated operations teams for our Retail business. This team manages all import shipments into Cape Town & Durban from various suppliers globally - mainly China and India. Within the team we have an import controlling function which receive documents, open shipments files and invoice necessary charges. This includes accurate cost accrual and charge capturing. Manage the movement of cargo from destination port to delivery point and ensure proactive communication flows to customers and service providers through each key milestone event.

Job Related requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Ocean Import Freight forwarding.
• Grade 12 certificate

Electives:

• Knowledge of current Incoterms
• Knowledge of international freight forwarding
• Excellent communication skills
• Good planning and self-management skills
• Exposure to TFR and Rail Services
• CargoWise 1 experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Tracking of shipments exceptions that require intervention, escalation and address them accordingly
• Following up and ensuring all required shipment milestones are completed on-time and within KPI
• Engage with shipping carriers and Transnet Rail for the co-ordination of shipment deliveries
• Registration and invoicing of shipments on CargoWise
• Following up on carrier invoices and ANF's and Transnet Rail load planning / scheduling.
• Checking vendor invoices and raising queries as required.
• Opening shipment files and documents assembly
• Completing key updates and milestones in CargoWise
• Proactively engage and manage communication with customer and Operational Key Account Manager.
